Our Christian Vision
To Inspire, Enable and Educate for 'Life in all its Fullness'.
At Swimbridge CE Primary School, our vision and our values of Wisdom, Dignity, Community, Hope and Love are central to our Christian ethos and all teaching and learning. The school's vision gives high priority to the spiritual, and moral development of all in its care.
Each day includes a shared act of worship, led by staff, children or visitors to the school. As a Church of England (VA) School, we have strong links with The Diocese of Exeter, St James' Church, Swimbridge and Barnstaple's 'Churches Together' and our children play a central role in all collective worship activities throughout the year.
We encourage children to develop their Christian character through our Fruits of the Spirit rewards programme. Children are encouraged to grow in love, peace, kindness, patience, joy, faithfulness, goodness, gentleness and self control and show these in all aspects of school life.
Our School Prayers
God gives us wisdom, hope, community, dignity and love.
For food and friends we thank you Lord.
Go in peace, go in joy, go in love.
The Lord's Prayer
Our Father, which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth,
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive them that trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
The power, and the glory,
For ever and ever.
Our Family Group Prayer
Be with us in our learning.
Be with us in our playing.
Be with us in our laughter.
Be with us in our tears.
Be with us when we get things right and when we get things wrong.
Be with us as we come to school and when we travel home.
We know that you will be here for us, Lord, at Swimbridge School.
We ask this in Jesus’ name.
Our Traditional School Prayer
This is our school.
Let peace dwell here,
Let the rooms be full of contentment.
Let love abide here,
Love of one another,
Love of mankind,
Love of life itself,
And love of God.
